Metro Rentals is an online facilitator for Ashi Hire Pty Ltd (ABN: 87 906 978 805). All equipment rentals and fulfilment are provided by Ashi Hire Pty Ltd. Metro Rentals is a digital booking platform that facilitates transactions between retail hire customers and Ashi Hire Pty Ltd. Metro Rentals charges no additional fees on top of the prices listed on this platform. All agreements entered into through this platform are between the customer and Ashi Hire Pty Ltd directly.

Metro Rentals is an online booking platform that facilitates equipment hire bookings on behalf of Ashi Hire Pty Ltd (ABN: 87 906 978 805). Metro Rentals does not own or operate any equipment listed on this platform. All hire agreements are between the customer and Ashi Hire Pty Ltd directly. We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. What Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when you:

Apply for a Trade Account (first name, last name, mobile number, business name, ABN, business registration number, monthly spend estimate, how you heard about us)

Place a hire booking (contact details, delivery address, payment information)

Sign a hire agreement (digital signature, government-issued photo ID)

Contact us via our website at https://metrorentals.com.au/contact or by email

We also collect information you begin entering but do not submit.

If you start filling in any form or text field on our website, including the booking funnel or contact forms, and do not complete or submit that form, the information you have typed may still be captured and logged. This is used solely to help us understand where customers encounter difficulty and to follow up on incomplete bookings where appropriate. This data is stored securely and subject to the same protections as all other personal information we hold.

We also automatically collect certain technical information when you use our website, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, funnel steps reached, and referring URL.

2. Why We Collect Your Information

Process and facilitate equipment hire bookings on behalf of Ashi Hire Pty Ltd

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We will not use your information for purposes other than those listed above without your consent.

3. How We Store and Protect Your Data

Your data is stored securely on servers located in Australia and the United States, operated by our platform providers. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS/SSL) for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers.

Government-issued photo ID collected as part of the hire agreement signing process is stored in a private, access-controlled storage environment. It is not publicly accessible and can only be retrieved by authorised personnel. ID documents are retained for 12 months following the end of the relevant hire period and then securely deleted.

Digital signatures collected via the hire agreement are stored securely alongside a timestamp and IP address record for the purposes of verifying agreement execution.

Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel who require it to perform their duties. All personnel with access are bound by confidentiality obligations.

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to provide our services and to comply with our legal obligations, typically a period of seven (7) years for financial records in accordance with Australian tax law.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited personal data with the following trusted third-party providers who assist us in operating our platform:

Stripe (stripe.com) — Payment processing. Your card details are transmitted directly to Stripe and are never stored on Metro Rentals servers. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

Twilio (twilio.com) — SMS delivery. We share your mobile number and first name with Twilio to send you booking confirmations and order status updates. Twilio's privacy policy is available at twilio.com/en-us/legal/privacy.

Resend (resend.com) — Transactional email delivery. We share your name and email address with Resend to send you booking confirmations and service communications. Resend's privacy policy is available at resend.com/privacy.

Google Maps — Delivery address verification and distance calculation from our depot to your delivery address.

These providers are contractually required to protect your information and may only use it for the purposes we specify.

5. Law Enforcement and Equipment Recovery

Metro Rentals and Ashi Hire Pty Ltd (ABN: 87 906 978 805) reserve the right to disclose your personal information to Victoria Police or other relevant authorities where equipment has not been returned, where fraud is suspected, or where we are required to do so by law. This may include your name, contact details, identification documents, and delivery address.

6. Your Rights

Access the personal information we hold about you, including any partial form data captured during incomplete sessions
